Covid vaccinations have started. They will be booked by our staff at a few locations spread over Barnsley. Do not phone us! We’ll phone you!

The Covid vaccinations are finally here!

3 weeks ago, the vaccinations started in the hospitals and last week, the first vaccinations took place within primary care.

The vaccinations do not take place at your local practice. Instead, there are three hubs spread over Barnsley where these vaccinations take place.

These are:

  • The Priory Campus in Lundwood
  • The Goldthorpe Medical Centre
  • Apollo Court

DO NOT GO TO THESE SITES WITHOUT HAVING BEEN GIVEN AN APPOINTMENT TIME!

DO NOT CALL THESE SITES TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT!

DO NOT CALL US TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT; WE WILL CALL YOU!

There is no need or benefit in contacting anyone to check if you are eligible, to request an appointment or to make sure you’re on the list.

NHS England has made it very clear who will be eligible and has priority. GP practices have been given lists of people to contact and book the appointments for. As we are working from these lists in a methodical manner, we will contact you when you become eligible.

When we contact you, you will be asked a number of questions to make sure you have no contraindications to receiving the Covid vaccination. Answer these questions honestly as your health is at risk if you fail to tell us important details asked for.

Currently, we are slowly working our way through the list of people over the age of 80. Only those patients who are able to go to the vaccination sites are currently eligible. If you are housebound, you will need to wait until a more stable vaccine is available to allow vaccination at your home.

Don’t worry, your turn will come. And, as mentioned, don’t call us, we’ll call you.
