Feedback from older Patient Satisfaction Surveys not yet shared
Still trying to ensure we share all the comments that have been left for us and not yet been shared. So, here are the ones for August 2025:
‘Just say thank you to all the staff’
‘Seeing a doctor is better than a phone call, as you are having a face to face and you feel more at ease than talking on a phone’
The majority of our appointments are face-to-face. Only our medication review appointments with our pharmacist, and our early morning appointments (7-8 am) are telephone appointments standard. Most other appointments are in person.
‘The nurse and the receptionist were very professional 👌’
‘I came yesterday for an appointment and the doctor was extremely rude wouldn’t listen to me. Told me I was overweight wouldn’t listen when I asked for my tubs tying because of my history just told me it wasn’t my choice’
We don’t know what happened here and can’t investigate it as the patient didn’t leave any contact details. We suspect this was a case of miscommunication. Weight may have an influence on whether a patient is deemed fit for surgery or whether the risks would outweigh the benefits. There are also age restrictions to such requests as the surgery is meant to be irreversible and the doctor will need to ensure that the patient is fully aware of this. Often, this surgery is not done before the age of 30 and only when the patient’s family has been completed.

‘ I am very happy to be a patient at this surgery. The staff are really helpful and I appreciate your patience and support on the few occasions I have contacted you.
When I visited recently, I did not feel rushed during my appointment which was very much appreciated as I am going through a difficult time.

‘This appointment was for annual medical review which is supposed to be done around your birthday, mine was 24 June, I was not contacted and had to call the surgery for an appointment. Apart from that the nurse was extremely helpful.’
Unfortunately, the job of doing recalls at that time fell to one person only and the recalls (about 350-500 each month) take a lot of time as this is not just a simple click of a button. We apologise this patient didn’t receive the recall on time, however, patients can always contact us around their birthday month (although January-March birthday reviews are done in April-June) to request an appointment. We believe this is a partnership with our patients. Since then, we have also spread the work over more team members to share the workload. We hope this will help.

The GPs request our reception team to request details surrounding the request to see a doctor. This helps them to already signpost patients to more appropriate services and also allows the clinician to assess the need for the appointment and the urgency for the requested appointment. Our reception team also keeps to the practice rules on confidentiality and only shares the information on the patient’s clinical record and with the triaging clinician.
‘I normally book my appointment via telephone or online however on this occasion the appointment was booked in response to contact from the doctor and then I booked online.
I felt the doctor listened to my needs and was very thorough. The doctor became aware of a problem of which I didn’t know anything about so I left the surgery feeling that I had been dealt with very professionally. I would recommend this particular Doctor.’
