Help while waiting for child’s autism assessment
New webpage launched to help families while they wait for their child’s Autism Assessment
As part of the Barnsley All-Age Autism Strategy 2025–2030 a new webpage has been launched to help families access local support that’s available while they wait for their child’s Autism assessment.
Developed collaboratively by Barnsley Family Hubs, our Local Offer Lived Experience Steering Group, NHS South Yorkshire and Barnsley Council, this resource reflects our shared commitment to improving access to timely, meaningful support for families across the borough.
The page brings together information on different services and support that are available locally, all signposted through the Barnsley Local Offer, making it easier for families to find help when they need it most.
This initiative is one of the first practical outputs of the borough’s new All-Age Autism Strategy, which aims to create a more inclusive Barnsley where people of all ages with Autism can live healthy, safe and fulfilling lives.
